Islands

Islands (烟火人家) follows the story of a strict matriarch, Qiao Haiyun, who insists on an annual family reunion each Chinese New Year. The tradition is challenged when her granddaughter, Li Yijin, decides to spend the holiday with her boyfriend, sparking family tensions. The series explores the dynamics and growth of three generations of women in the family, who, despite their differences, support each other like distant yet connected islands.
